It will be a big weekend for Dru Joyce as he will host his first group of official visitors since taking over as head coach of the Duquesne Dukes basketball program.

Samford guard AJ Staton-McCray, George Washington guard Maximus Edwards and Miami, Fla. forward A.J. Casey will be arriving in town today and spend the weekend evaluating Duquesne University and getting to meet Joyce and other members of the basketball program.

After they depart on Sunday, Joyce has already lined up another visitor for Monday.

Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned that Chicago State transfer guard Jahsean Corbett will arrive in Pittsburgh on Monday. Corbett is a 6-foot-7, 210-pound guard who has been extremely productive with the Chicago State Cougars.

Last season, Corbett averaged 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds in 35 minutes per game. From the field, Corbett shot 45.9%, while shooting 28.7% from 3-point range. During the 2022-23 season, the Orlando, Florida native averaged 14.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Corbett was extremely productive the final 15 games of the season as he scored 20+ points in 9 games.

According to The Portal Report, Corbett is also receiving interest from Miami, Mississippi State, UAB, Virginia Tech, Utah State, Bowling Green, Loyola Chicago, Illinois State, UMBC and UTEP.

Corbett will have one season of eligibility remaining.

Reloading the depth chart at guard will be crucial for Joyce as he’ll need to replace both the productivity and leadership of both Dae Dae Grant and Tre Clark.
